If You Knew My Whole Story

If you knew my whole story, you’d be proud of me.

I’m still here. I’m still around.

I’ve come along way on my own.

But still, I’m working on forgiving the two of them.

I’m still working on forgiving myself.

If you knew my whole story, it was meant to be.

You’d be here. You’d still be around.

You’d have come a long way.

But I’m still working on forgiving the two of them.

I can’t have you interfering.

I’m still working on forgiving myself.

I can’t worry about you having to forgive me too.

A poem by Emily Clendenin
